Slow Cooker Cheesy Seafood Dip
Ingredients
- 1 lb Crab chopped
- 1 lb cheese, melting Velveeta works, cut into cubes
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 1 each bell pepper finely diced, red if possible
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 jalapeño seeded and minced (optional for an extra kick!)
- 1 teaspoon creole seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for the spice enthusiasts
- to taste Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Spray your slow cooker with a little bit of non-stick spray or butter
- Toss your diced cheese, crab,sour cream, and mayonnaise into the slow cooker. Give it a brief stir.
- Sauté your onions and bell pepper on the stove until they soften a bit, adding the garlic towards the end.
- Add your veggies to the slow cooker along with the creole seasoning, cayenne (if you're daring), and that optional jalapeño.
- Adjust your slow cooker to low, let it cook for about 2 hours. Stir occasionally .
- Season with salt and pepper to your taste, and give it a good final stir.
- Pour the dip into your favorite serving bowl, garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, and serve it up with your grazing assortment of sides.
