Chicken soup mix in a jar
Use this also a flavoring like a spice.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fedio or other small pasta. I drop this for storage to allow this mix to be used as a spice. Adding when desired when making soup.
- 1 cup dehydrated vegetable mix I drop.
- 2 ½ tablespoons chicken bouillon I use Knorr.
- ½ teaspoon black pepper grounded
- ¼ teaspoon thyme dried
- ⅛ teaspoon celery seeds
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoons onion flakes dried
- ½ tablespoon parsley dried
- ½ tablespoon chives
- ½ teaspoon basil dried
- ½ teaspoon oregano dried
- ⅛ teaspoon Red pepper flakes Optional
- 3 cups chicken previously cooked, diced. I withhold until making soup. Allows last min. alternation like replace with other meat.
Instructions
- Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined.
- Store the mix in an airtight container or a mason jar.
- To prepare the soup, mix 1/2 cup of the dry mix with 1 1/4 cups of water or milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
- Add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the noodles and vegetables are tender.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and enjoy your homemade chicken soup!
- You can add your favorite herbs and spices to customize this mix.
